Call for applications in autumn 2026: General grants for communities can be applied for from 1 October to 3 November 2026

The application period for general grants in 2027 is 1 October to 3 November 2026. All general grants are available for one- and three-year periods. Grants for communities can be applied for using the Applyforgrants.fi service.

An online info briefing for general grants will be held on 7 October 2026 at 1pm. The link to the webinar will be posted on the Taike website.

The Finnish Arts and Culture Agency does not transfer applications from one form of support to another, so it is important that applicants choose the most suitable form of support for their application by familiarising themselves with the call for applications, the objectives of the call, and the standard terms and conditions.

Application period for project grants in spring

The application period for project grants for communities has been moved to spring. In spring 2027, communities will be able to apply for project grants for culture and project grants for the arts. Project grants are intended to fund individual projects.

Project grants for culture were available for application for the first time in autumn 2025. At that time, the support combined previous forms of support for children's and youth culture, cultural diversity, and inclusion and cultural wellbeing.

Project grants for the arts correspond to the special subsidies for specific artforms previously awarded by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike).

The precise contents of both forms of project grants, including application dates and grant periods, will be notified at a later date.

Applications to be reviewed by Grant Assessment Panels comprising arts and culture experts

Applications for community grants submitted to the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency will be reviewed by arts and culture experts appointed to Grant Assessment Panels. The task of these panels is to assess the quality of action plans and projects in terms of specific fields of the arts or their objectives. Decisions on community grants are made by the Director of the Arts and Culture Funding Department of the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency based on a presentation by a special advisor.

Note: Numerous simultaneous changes are affecting the government grants awarded by the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency. The peer review structure is being renewed, and new application systems are being introduced. As a result, an exceptionally large number of changes are being made to the forms of support and application periods. All forms of support and application periods for autumn 2026 will be announced by the end of August. We encourage you to actively follow our communications.
