Arts councils are expert bodies of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) that decide on grants and prizes, each within its own field of the arts or region. Members of the arts councils are appointed by the Central Arts Council every two years.

The appointment process starts with a request for candidates for the 2025–2026 term. Come and hear how the appointment process is progressing, what is involved in working on an arts council, and what kinds of experiences members have had with working on arts councils.

This info briefing will discuss the principles of council work and the appointment process itself, and members who have served on arts councils will be interviewed about their council work.

The info briefing will be held in Finnish, but questions and comments can also be presented in Swedish and English.

Registration is not required. The info briefing will be recorded and published on Taike’s YouTube channel.
