Grants for individuals and working groups

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) will merge to form the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency as of 1 January 2026. Taike is the statutory government grant authority until 31 December 2025.

Library grants for writers and translators

Library grants are intended for creative work of writers and translators.

Application period 2026: 7.1.–2.2.2026

Library subsidies

Library subsidies are intended for elderly authors and translators who are in difficult financial circumstances, and for authors and translators who are facing financial difficulties due to illness or disability to work.

Application period 2026: 7.1.–2.2.2026

Public Display Grants

These grants are available to professional artists who work in the visual arts, whose works may be displayed publicly, and who reside or have resided permanently in Finland.

Regional grants

Regional grants are intended for professional artists and art journalists, as well as working groups formed by them. Private traders (“toiminimi”) may also apply.

Application period 2025: 3.3.–27.3.2025
Decision date: by 30.6.2025

Artist grants

Artist grants are intended to support the work of professional artists and art journalists in different fields of the arts. The grants are awarded for a period of between six months and five years.

Supplementary artist pension

Supplementary artist pension may be awarded in recognition of meritorious activity as a creative or performing artist.

Project grants for the arts

Note: These grants can be applied for using the Applyforgrants.fi service. 

Project grants are intended for arts professionals and working groups formed by them to support individual projects.

Application period 2025: 5.11.–3.12.2025

Government grants for communities

General grants for festivals

These grants are intended for art and cultural festivals that have national or regional significance.

Decision date: by 17.3.2026

General grants for cultural magazines and online publications

These grants are intended for cultural magazines published in Finland and online publications in any language that maintain a diverse social discussion about culture, science, the arts or different worldviews.

Project grants for culture

These grants are intended for individual projects implemented by professional communities that promote cultural and social inclusion, as well as strengthen cultural rights.

General grants for culture

These grants are intended for professional communities whose activities promote cultural and social inclusion, as well as strengthen cultural rights.

Decision date: by 15.2.2026

Internationalisation grants for the arts

These grants are intended for art communities and event organisers for individual internationalisation projects.

General grants for the arts

These grants are intended for the long-term professional operations of art communities. These grants support the continuity and development of the operations of art communities.
