Public Art
Our public art experts promote public art and the implementation of the Percent for Art principle in Finland. We support municipalities, developers and other actors in launching public art projects and sharing good practices. The goal is to strengthen the role of art in developing the built environment and increase commitment to the Percent for Art principle.

Our public art team promotes public artvand the Percent for Art principle in Finland. Contact us and we will be glad to help in any questions regarding the production, commissioning and funding of public art.
Our objectives are:
- To support the implementation of new “Percent for Art” projects
- To strengthen the high quality of public art procurements
- To support the use of art in building quality environments
- To make “Percent for Art” activities systematic and continuous throughout Finland
We provide assistance:
- To municipalities and regional museums for creating and implementing public art strategies and structures
- To property developers and other procurers for including public art procurements as part of the design and construction process
- To public authorities for strengthening strategic work to bring together art and the built environment
In addition, our services include sharing good practices (including agreement practices, procurement practices, guidelines, programme models), participating in networks connecting different art sectors in the built environment, and strengthening public art communications and media visibility.
We have also awarded subsidies to new projects and development projects that apply the Percent for Art principle. Open calls for applications can be found on our grants and subsidies pages.
