Online services for communities
The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) will merge to form the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency as of 1 January 2026. Taike is the statutory government grant authority until 31 December 2025. Decisions on grants to be awarded in 2026 will be made by the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency.
Two online services during interim period
Taike will gradually switch to using the joint online service of government grant authorities, Applyforgrants.fi. During the interim period, two online services are in use:
Applyforgrants.fi service
- Grant applications as of autumn 2025
Taike’s online services
- Requests for revisions and final reports for grants applied for using Taike’s existing online services
Instructions for using the Applyforgrants.fi service
All Taike grants can be applied for using the Applyforgrants.fi service, instructions for which can be found on website of the State Treasury.
Instructions for online services (Applyforgrants.fi)
In order to access the Applyforgrants.fi service, your community must have a valid Business ID. When logging in to the service, select “As organisation’s representative” as the role and then authenticate using Suomi.fi e-identification. You can log in using your personal eBanking identifiers, a mobile certificate, certification card, eIDAS identification or the Finnish Authenticator application. When logging in, select the community you are representing.
To log in to the Applyforgrants.fi service on behalf of a community, the representative will need a mandate that can be granted and managed using the Suomi.fi e-Authorization service. Before authorising a person to act on behalf of the community, refer to the guidelines under Information on e-Authorizations. Keep in mind that the person granting the mandate is responsible for ensuring that e-Authorizations are up to date. If a company, association or some other organisation cannot independently grant mandates in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations, an authority can register the mandates on the basis of a mandate application.
On the Applyforgrants.fi service, you can act on behalf of a community without a separate mandate if you are registered in the following roles:
- Register of Associations
- Chairperson
- Member
- Signatory who has the right to represent the association alone
- Procurator
- Trade Register
- Managing Director/CEO
- Deputy Managing Director/CEO
- Signatory who has the right to represent the association alone
- Procurator
- Private Trader
Factors that may prevent you from acting on behalf of a community when using the Applyforgrants.fi service:
- Acting on behalf of company that is undergoing restructuring, bankruptcy or liquidation.
- A trustee may not act on behalf of the person under trusteeship.
Types of mandates on the Applyforgrants.fi service
There are three types of mandates by which an authorised person can represent a community on the Applyforgrants.fi service:
- Valtionavustusten hakemisen valmistelu (Preparing applications for government grants): This type of mandate entitles the authorised person or their delegate to prepare applications for government grants.
- Valtionavustusten hakeminen (Applying for government grants): This type of mandate entitles the authorised person or their delegate to prepare applications for government grants and take other actions related to grants, submit applications for processing and cancel applications.
- Valtionavustusten hakeminen ja tietojen hallinnointi (Applying for government grants and managing information): This type of mandate entitles the authorised person or their delegate to prepare applications for government grants and take other actions related to grants, submit applications for processing and manage information related to the authorising party.
Guidelines for using Taike’s online services
If your community has been awarded a grant using Taike’s existing online services, revision requests and final reports should be sent using the same online services.
