Information about general grants for festivals

These grants are intended to support art and culture festivals of national or regional importance.

These grants can be applied using applyforgrants.fi online service.

These grants may be awarded to registered communities, such as associations, cooperatives, companies, municipalities and foundations.

These grants support the organisation of arts and culture festivals in Finland. A grant may be awarded to a festival that:

  • has been organised regularly at least three times
  • is produced by arts and culture professionals
  • is regionally, nationally or internationally significant.

The social objective of general grants for festivals is to promote the regional significance and accessibility of the arts and culture and to support high-quality festival programmes.

One-year and three-year general grants for festivals can be applied for in 2025.

General grants for festivals may cover only a portion of the total funding of operations and not all expenses. The call for applications specifies the percentage of eligible expenses that the grant awarded by Taike may be used to cover. The amount of the grant combined with other State support may not exceed the total amount of eligible expenses (100%).
