Information about general grants for culture

These grants are intended for professional communities whose activities promote cultural and social inclusion, as well as strengthen cultural rights.

General grants for culture may be awarded to registered communities, such as associations, cooperatives, companies, municipalities and foundations. These grants may be awarded to communities that are well established and that carries out regular year-round activities.

These grants support communities that promote cultural diversity, anti-racism and equality. General grants for culture combine two previous forms of support: subsidies for promoting inclusion and cultural wellbeing, and subsidies for promoting cultural diversity and combating racism.

One-year and three-year general grants for culture can be applied for in 2025.

General grants may cover only a portion of the total funding of operations and not all costs. The call for applications specifies the percentage of eligible expenses that the grant awarded by Taike may be used to cover.

The amount of the grant combined with other public financing may not exceed the total amount of eligible costs (100 percent).
