Grants for communities

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) will merge to form the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency as of 1 January 2026. Taike is the statutory government grant authority until 31 December 2025. Decisions on grants to be awarded in 2026 will be made by the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency.
Taike grants are intended for legal communities such as associations, cooperatives and companies. Organisations run by municipalities and foundations may also apply. Unregistered communities, private traders and private persons, including working groups formed by them, are not eligible for grants intended for communities.
Applications and the operations of applicants are evaluated by Taike’s experts. As of 1 January 2026, decisions on grants will be made by the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency.
Each year, Taike awards approximately 8 million euros in general grants to around 200 communities, as well as approximately 5 million euros in project grants.
Organisers of art competitions can apply for tax-exempt status for their awards from Taike.
