Taike will host a webinar in Finnish covering this autumn’s grant applications on Wednesday 4 October from 2pm to 3:30pm. The webinar will go through which grants individuals and working groups can apply for and offer tips on how to apply.

AVARA is an annual event organized by the Centre for Arts Innovation (CAI) at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences, co-hosted this year with the Arts Promotion Centre Finland’s Creative Net project (ESF+).

Taike to submit information about applications and decisions to Tutkiavustuksia.fi

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) will submit summarised information about decisions for all calls for applications announced since 1 October to the joint Tutkiavustuksia.fi service. For subsidies to communities, both positive and negative subsidy decisions will be published on the website. For grants to artists, only positive grant decisions will be published.

State budget proposal for 2024 proposes 5 percent cut to Taike grants and subsidies

Finland’s state budget proposal for 2024 has been published. Cuts of around 5 percent have been proposed for Taike grants and subsidies compared to the amount allocated in 2023. The cuts do not apply to Taike’s legally mandated forms of support, for which index increases are proposed.

Kemiönsaari Lab workshops for artists to begin

In spring 2024, Taike is organising a series of workshops in Kemiönsaari aimed at increasing the production skills of artists. These free-of-charge workshops will be held at Kulturhus Björkboda and are primarily intended for local artists. In addition, artists will have the opportunity to participate in the pitching webinar in April.

Taike accepts proposals for members of arts councils

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is currently accepting nominations for candidates to its national and regional arts councils for the next two-year term, which begins on 1 January 2025. The deadline for nominations is 31 May 2024.

Minister of Culture and Sport Paavo Arhinmäki has appointed Minna Sirnö (MA) Director of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland for a five-year term beginning on 1 March 2013.

3.4.2024

Changes to regional grants and artist grants

Regional grants and artist grants awarded by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) can be applied for during the period 1 March – 3 April 2024. A few changes have been made to these grants compared to last year. Artists can now apply for a regional grant to cover work and expenses using the same application. Regional grants can be applied for from one region and with one application only. For artist grants, it is no longer possible to apply for a ten-year Artist Professor grant.

Processing of applications for library grants and public display grants begins

Library grants for writers and translators and public display grants for visual artists for 2024 could be applied for from the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) until 31 January. Altogether 1270 applications for library grants and 1241 applications for public display grants are now being processed. The number of applications was at the same level as last year.

Taike will host a webinar on Thursday 7 March starting at 2pm covering this spring’s calls for applications for regional grants and artist grants. The webinar will go through the changes that have been made to this year’s calls for applications and provide tips for how to apply.

Taike info briefing for communities: use and clarification of operational subsidies

Taike is an organising an info briefing on the use and clarification of operational subsidies on Wednesday 13 March, 1pm–2pm. The info briefing will discuss the terms and restrictions of using state subsidies, as well as how to provide clarification of the use of the subsidy.
