Change to application deadlines as of April 2015

As of April 2015, applications must be received by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland no later than 4:00pm on the last day of the application period. It is no longer sufficient that applications be postmarked on the last day. The change is due to a new online service that is being introduced for submitting applications. The deadline for submitting applications online is also 4.00pm.

Taike grants and subsidies open for application in October

Changes have been made to the autumn application period for grants awarded by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike). Applications can now be submitted and processed online.

Project grant and special subsidy decisions by 10 March

The majority of project grant and special subsidy decisions will be sent to applicants by 28 February, as originally announced. However, due to an increase in the number of applications, some decisions may be slightly delayed. All decisions will be sent by 10 March at the latest. We apologise for any delay!

Call for projects within Creative and Cultural Innovation Expertise ESF+ theme open until 15 May

The call for projects within the Creative and Cultural Innovation Expertise ESF+ theme is open from 15 March to 15 May 2023. Actors of all sizes within the arts, culture and creative sectors are encouraged to apply for funding. Sparring for developing project ideas and network is being organised for those interested in applying.

Operational subsidy decisions by 5 February

The majority of operational subsidy decisions will be sent to applicants by 31 January, as originally announced. However, some will be sent only by 5 February. You will be notified by e-mail when the decision is available on our e-services. We apologise for any delay.

If you have not received an e-mail notification that the decision has arrived, you can check the status of your application using our e-services by going to “Omat hakemukset” (My applications) → “Päätetyt” (Processed).

The Role of Intermediary Bodies within the Finnish Public Cultural Administration

In March 1994 CIRCLE (Cultural Information & Research Centres Liaison in Europe) Network organised an European Round Table on the Distribution of Roles and Changing Nature of Relations between Governments and Independent or Quasi-Independent Arts Councils or Foundations. As a preparation for the conference the participating countries were asked to describe the national situation through answering seven questions within a maximum of about 5-8 pages. This working paper presents the reply of Finland to the questionnaire.

Focus and Functions of Public Support for Artists in Finland

The aim of this project has been to map out the number and background of Finnish artists, and especially their economic situation, and to evaluate the impact of the system of artists' support adopted at the end of the 60's.
