State artist grants awarded to 311 artists

The arts councils of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have awarded state artist grants starting in 2022 to 311 professional artists, 12 of whom have been awarded five-year Artist Professor grants.

Taike distributes almost 25 million euros in fourth round of COVID-19 support

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has awarded grants and subsidies to support the work of 5346 artists and 569 private traders in the fourth round of COVID-19 support. The application period for these grants and subsidies was 29 March to 15 April 2021.

State prizes awarded to 14 artists

The national arts councils have awarded state prizes in the fields of architecture, cinema, the performing arts, literature, the visual arts, children’s culture, media art, multidisciplinary art, design, music and photographic art. The value of the State Prize for Children’s Culture is 30,000 euros and the State Prize for Multidisciplinary Art 28,000 euros. The value of each of the other state prizes is 14,000 euros. The prizes were awarded by Hanna Kosonen, Minister of Science Culture, at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki on 29 November.

The arts councils of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have awarded artist grants to 290 professionals, two-thirds of whom work in the fields of the visual arts, literature, theatre and music.

Taike awards 7.2 million euros in third round of COVID-19 support

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has awarded grants and subsidies to support the work of 1609 artists and 161 private traders in the third round of COVID-19 support. This funding was targeted towards professional artists, writers and art journalists who have lost work opportunities due to the coronavirus pandemic.

State Prize for Media Art to Shinji Kanki

Experimental composer Shinji Kanki (born 1953) has had a long, versatile and multidisciplinary career in auditory art. He has lived and worked in Finland since 1985, and his diverse activities have ranged from experimental music and other auditory art to experimental radio broadcasting.
