COVID-19 support

During 2020–2022, Taike distributed a total of 130 million euros in COVID-19 support to artists, professionals in the creative sectors, private traders and sole proprietors, and art associations. Altogether there were seven application rounds. More than 43,000 applications were received in total, and more than 25,000 applicants received positive decisions. Overall, 58% of applicants received funding.

Central Arts Council supports multidisciplinary “good speech” project

The Central Arts Council was awarded a 30,000-euro subsidy to RASMUS ry, which promotes “good speech” in social media and public spaces.

Taike awards artist grants funding the work of 290 artists

The arts councils of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have awarded artist grants to 290 professionals, two-thirds of whom work in the fields of the visual arts, literature, theatre and music.

Information about project grants for the arts

Project grants for the arts are intended for arts professional and working groups formed by them for individual projects. Private traders may also apply. The application period for project grants for the arts is in autumn.

State prizes awarded to 16 artists

The national arts councils of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have awarded state prizes in the fields of architecture, cinema, the performing arts, literature, the visual arts, media art, multidisciplinary art, design, music, comics and photographic art. The value of each state prize is 14,000 euros. The prizes were awarded by Sampo Terho, Minister for European Affairs, Culture and Sport, at the Taike Gala celebrating the 50th anniversary of the arts councils that was held in Helsinki on 27 November.

State prizes awarded to 14 artists

The national arts councils have awarded state prizes in the fields of architecture, cinema, the performing arts, literature, the visual arts, children’s culture, media art, multidisciplinary art, design, music and photographic art. The value of the State Prize for Children’s Culture is 30,000 euros and the State Prize for Multidisciplinary Art 28,000 euros. The value of each of the other state prizes is 14,000 euros. The prizes were awarded by Hanna Kosonen, Minister of Science Culture, at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki on 29 November.

Grants for communities

Taike grants are intended for professional activities. Grants are awarded either as general grants for ongoing operations or as project grants for specific projects. Taike grants can be applied for using the Applyforgrants.fi service under the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency name.
