This paper discusses tentatively the impact of gender on the income level and public support of artists comparing the situation across art forms with the help of additional data recently acquired.

This paper is based on experiences from a research project on the social and economic position of Finnish artists, carried out at the Research Unit of the Arts Council of Finland.
