Taike has multiple expert panels. Members of the panels are collected from members of national arts councils, regional arts councils and boards.

COVID-19 support

During 2020–2022, Taike distributed a total of 130 million euros in COVID-19 support to artists, professionals in the creative sectors, private traders and sole proprietors, and art associations. Altogether there were seven application rounds. More than 43,000 applications were received in total, and more than 25,000 applicants received positive decisions. Overall, 58% of applicants received funding.

Workshops: Developing ideas and expertise in the arts, culture and creative sectors

Taike’s Creative Net project is organising workshops for further developing ideas and expertise in the arts, culture and creative sectors. These workshops will offer support, sparring and networking opportunities.

Particularly distinguished art professionals may be awarded recognition for their work in the form of the title Art Academic or Artist Professor.

Information about project grants for the arts

Project grants for the arts are intended for arts professional and working groups formed by them for individual projects. Private traders may also apply. The application period for project grants for the arts is in autumn.

Grants for communities

Taike grants are intended for professional activities. Grants are awarded either as general grants for ongoing operations or as project grants for specific projects. Taike grants can be applied for using the Applyforgrants.fi service under the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency name.

Organisation

Taike has approximately 80 employees. Approximately half of these are administrative staff (civil servants) and half are art experts and artist experts on fixed-term employment contracts. The head office of Taike is in Helsinki, and it also has regional offices.
