The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is an expert and service agency for promoting the arts under the Ministry of Education and Culture. Taike’s mission is to promote the arts on both the national and international levels, as well as to promote aspects of culture that are not covered by any other official body.

In cooperation with Globe Art Point, Taike is hosting an online info briefing covering Taike grants for professional artists. The Eloon! tour organised by Creative Net and Suomen Yrittäjät – the Federation of Finnish Enterprises arrives in Rovaniemi on 8 October. The theme of the event is “Lapland’s creative networks in the innovation work of companies”. On the tour, professionals from the business and creative sectors get the chance to collaborate and come up with creative solutions to the challenges of regional vitality.

The Finnish Government has submitted its proposal for the 2025 Budget to Parliament. Appropriations for discretionary government grants awarded by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) will be cut by approximately EUR 1.9 million. In addition, the previously budgeted EUR 3 million for the performing arts related to the reform of government transfers is no longer included in the State Budget. In total, Taike’s appropriations will be approximately EUR 4.9 million less than in 2024.

Publishers and foreign and minority language writers will have the chance to meet at the Turku Book Fair on 4 October 2024. The programme also includes a panel discussion that will be open to the public.

Taike subsidies are intended for professional activities. Subsidies are awarded either as operational subsidies for ongoing operations or as special subsidies for specific projects.
