Call for applications for project grants for the arts opens 5 November 2025 under the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency name on the Applyforgrants.fi Service
Project grants for the arts support the projects and working conditions of arts professionals. These grants enable the production and presentation of artistic work regionally, nationally and internationally. Projects supported by these grants implement a wide range of high-quality and professional art intended for different audiences.
Arts professionals refer to professional artists, producers, art journalists and curators, for example.
The period of use for project grants applied for in 2025 is 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027.
One application per applicant
The number of applications that can be submitted per applicant is once again restricted. Project grants can be applied for with one application only, either as a private individual or as the contact person for a working group, and for one artform only. If the applicant submits more than one application, only the newest one will be evaluated. In addition to one personal application, the applicant can also be included in another application as a member of a working group.
Webinars on project grants for the arts
Taike will host a webinar in Finnish on the call for applications on Tuesday 11 November 2025, 3pm–4pm. The webinar will go through the changes that have been made to this year’s call for applications and provide tips for how to apply. Questions can also be asked in Swedish and English.
Taike will host a separate webinar in English on Wednesday 12 November 2025, 3pm–4pm.
These events will be recorded and published on Taike’s YouTube channel.
Call for applications published under the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency name
The call for applications will be published on the joint Applyforgrants.fi service for government grant authorities, where the notice for the call for applications and application form can be found. The call for applications is being published under the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency name, as decisions will be made in 2026 after the new agency has begun operations.
The website is trilingual, and all application-related information is now also available in English in addition to Finnish and Swedish.
The Applyforgrants.fi service still lists the Arts Promotion Centre Finland under government grant authorities, where you can find calls for applications that have closed. However, new calls for applications are not listed under the old name.
Taike and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) will merge as of 1 January 2026. The merger will not affect the evaluation or awarding processes for grants. Applications will be reviewed by Taike’s arts councils and expert panels, and decisions will be based on a presentation by a special advisor. The Finnish Arts and Culture Agency will decide on the distribution of funding between forms of support and fields of the arts at the start of 2026.
