Paula Tuovinen begins five-year term as Director of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland

Paula Tuovinen, MA, has begun her five-year term as the new Director of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) today on 1 June 2018. Tuovinen joins Taike from the University of the Arts Helsinki, where she served as Vice Rector.

In her new position, Paula Tuovinen wants to highlight the social importance of art and to support the livelihoods of artists.

Tuovinen is keen to get started on her work. “It’s time to roll up our sleeves, prepare to influence decision-makers and promote the status of the arts within society,” she envisions.

Paula Tuovinen previously worked as Rector of the Theatre Academy Helsinki, Director of the Danish National School for Contemporary Dance, and Lecturer in Contemporary Dance at the Theatre Academy Helsinki, and also as a dance artist. The position of Director of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland is for a fixed term and extends until 31 May 2023.
