Nomination of candidates for arts councils underway

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland requests candidates for national and regional arts councils to be nominated by 15 June. The Central Arts Council shall appoint the members for the 2017-18 term in the autumn.

The Right to Art – United Nations Day Seminar at the Arts Promotion Centre Finland

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland is organising a seminar on United Nations Day, Monday 24 October 2016, to discuss art, artistic work, international migration and the effects of these on the status of artists and the implementation of cultural rights. A report on the artistic expertise of immigrants compiled by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland will also be published at the seminar.

Community-art triennial starts at the IHME Contemporary Art Festival

The RECEPTION community-art triennial, now being held for the first time, begins on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Old Student House, as part of the IHME Contemporary Art Festival. Central Arts Council announces names, roles and numbers of members for national arts councils

Seven national arts councils shall make decisions about state grants, subsidies and awards in 2017-18. Each national arts council shall have between 9 and 12 members. Publishing Manager Saara Tiuraniemi has been appointed Vice-Chair of the Central Arts Council.

Taike appoints Finland’s first regional artist for games as art

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has appointed Jaakko Kemppainen MA (New Media and Game Design, Aalto University), MSc (Digital Culture, University of Jyväskylä) regional artist for games as art. As regional artist for games as art, Kemppainen is responsible for promoting the status of games as art, as well as for stimulating interest and promoting opportunities in this field.

Central Arts Council appoints new members to arts councils for the next two-year term

The Central Arts Council of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has appointed 74 art experts for the seven national arts councils for the 2019-20 term. In addition, 107 members have been appointed for the 13 regional arts councils.
