The Central Arts Council has submitted its opinion on the government proposal regarding the Education and Culture Administration 2030 reform project, which plans to merge government agencies. According to the draft legislation, the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) would merge to form the Culture Agency of Finland (Kulttuurivirasto) at the beginning of 2026. At the same time, the structure of the arts councils would change.

A total of 750,000 euros was awarded in project grants. These grants were awarded to 179 applicants out of 952 who applied.

ESF+ funding within the Creative and Cultural Innovation Expertise theme is available for projects that strengthen skills and employment in the arts and cultural sector or the creative sector and the creative economy. The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has decided on the distribution of appropriations among forms of support and specific artforms in 2025. The decision is based on priorities that aim to ensure the preservation of key structures, a regional balance and the renewal of the arts sector. The relative reduction in Taike’s discretionary grants compared to 2024 amounts to 4.6 million euros.

A total of 140,000 euros was awarded in project grants. These grants were awarded to 28 applicants out of 166 who applied.

A total of 180,000 euros was awarded in project grants. These grants were awarded to 19 applicants out of 212 who applied.

A total of 90,000 euros was awarded in project grants. These grants were awarded to 20 applicants out of 189 who applied.

A total of 70,000 euros was awarded in project grants. These grants were awarded to 8 applicants out of 66 who applied.

A total of 150,000 euros was awarded in project grants. These grants were awarded to 23 applicants out of 249 who applied.

The arts councils of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have awarded state artist grants starting in 2022 to 311 professional artists, 12 of whom have been awarded five-year Artist Professor grants.

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has awarded grants and subsidies to support the work of 5346 artists and 569 private traders in the fourth round of COVID-19 support. The application period for these grants and subsidies was 29 March to 15 April 2021.
