Application period for Taike grants and subsidies begins on 1 October

Changes have been made to this autumn’s calls for applications. For the first time, the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) will award three-year operational subsidies for the performing arts. The application period for special subsidies for children’s culture has been moved from spring to autumn. Take has also made changes to how some artforms are categorised.

Organisation

Taike has approximately 80 employees. Approximately half of these are administrative staff (civil servants) and half are art experts, artist experts and regional artists on fixed-term employment contracts. The head office of Taike is in Helsinki, and it also has regional offices.

Finnish foundations and ministry provide millions in emergency aid for cultural sector in distress

A number of large Finnish foundations, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Arts Promotion Centre Finland are working together to grant swift assistance to arts and culture professionals who have been hard hit by the coronavirus outbreak. Funding totalling approximately EUR 1.5 million will be apportioned during April via the Arts Promotion Centre (Taike). Foundations will also grant significant sums in aid through their own channels.

Arts Promotion Centre Finland sets strategic targets for 2015–20

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has set its strategic targets for the period 2015-20. Accordingly, the agency will focus on expertise and service. The aim is to serve as a leading expert organisation for art and artist policies and a service organisation founded on the needs of artists and the field of the arts.

Record number of grant applications – electronic services a success

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) received 5,632 online applications for those grants whose application period ended today. This was the first time that Taike’s electronic services have been used to such an extent. For the most part, customers have been satisfied with the new online services.

The head office of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) in Helsinki will move from Vuorikatu 24 to Hakaniemenranta 6 on 19 October.
