The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is an expert and service agency for promoting the arts under the Ministry of Education and Culture. Taike’s mission is to promote the arts on both the national and international levels, as well as to promote aspects of culture that are not covered by any other official body.

Subsidies for communities

Taike subsidies are intended for professional activities. Subsidies are awarded either as operational subsidies for ongoing operations or as special subsidies for specific projects.

The subsidy must be used only for the intended purpose and to cover the expenses specified in the application. Expenses must be essential and reasonable.

The National Council for the Performing Arts has awarded artist grants beginning in 2024. Artist grants were awarded to 42 artists.

Regional grants are intended for professional artists and art journalists, and/or working groups formed by them. The application period for regional grants is in spring.

Guidelines for grant applicants

Read the call for applications carefully and reserve sufficient time to fill in the application. Applications should be submitted online using our e-services, access to which requires strong authentication.

Decision-making

Grant decisions are based on peer reviews made by experts. A regular turnover of members combined with the diversity and regional representation of members of Taike’s expert bodies help ensure the pluralism of the decision-making process.

Congratulations on receiving a grant! The grant will be paid automatically to the account you specified on your application and does not have to be requested separately. Remember to submit clarification of how your grant was used before the deadline.
