Taike has approximately 80 employees. Approximately half of these are administrative staff (civil servants) and half are art experts, artist experts and regional artists on fixed-term employment contracts. The head office of Taike is in Helsinki, and it also has regional offices.

The purpose of the “Percent for Art” principle is that at least one percent of construction costs is used for art.

During 2020–2022, Taike distributed a total of 130 million euros in COVID-19 support to artists, professionals in the creative sectors, private traders and sole proprietors, and art associations. Altogether there were seven application rounds. More than 43,000 applications were received in total, and more than 25,000 applicants received positive decisions. Overall, 58% of applicants received funding.

Taike’s Creative Net project is organising workshops for further developing ideas and expertise in the arts, culture and creative sectors. These workshops will offer support, sparring and networking opportunities.

The goal of Taike’s development programmes is to promote the status and working conditions of artists and to enhance the impact of art in society. These goals are implemented in projects in which Taike’s regional artists, special advisors and art experts play a central role.

Taike will host a webinar in English covering grant and subsidy applications on Friday 6 October from 11am to 12:30pm. The webinar will go through which grants individuals and working groups can apply for and which subsidies are intended for communities. The webinar will also offer tips on how to apply for Taike grants and subsidies.
