Webinar on public display grants and library grants for writers and translators (in Finnish)

Finnish Arts and Culture Agency will host a webinar on Wednesday 14 January starting at 1pm covering this year’s call for applications for public display grants and library grants for writers and translators. The webinar will go through the changes that have been made to the calls for applications and provide tips for how to apply.

Finnish Arts and Culture Agency accepts only electronic invoices that are compliant with the European Standard. The payment term for invoices is 21 days net.

Public display grants are intended for professional artists in the fields of the visual arts, whose works may be displayed publicly. The application period for public display grants is in January.

Finnish Arts and Culture Agency begins operations

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) have merged at the start of the year to form the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency. The new agency carries out tasks related to the promotion of the arts and culture, media education and a safe media environment, as well as archiving and promoting knowledge of audiovisual culture. The merger will not result in any changes to services, although some contact information may change.

Taike has multiple expert panels. Members of the panels are collected from members of national arts councils, regional arts councils and boards.

Public Art

Taike’s public art team supports public and private actors and artists in funding and implementing public art projects. Our goal is to strengthen the share of art projects in the development of the built environment and a commitment to the “Percent for Art” principle.

Restructuring of arts councils: Status report on preparations

The system of peer reviews for the arts will be renewed on 1 July 2026, and the arts councils that have thus far made grant decisions will be discontinued. They will be replaced by the Council of Arts and Culture, a pool of experts and rotating grant assessment panels. The merger will not result in any changes to services, although some contact information may change. The head office of Kuvi is in Helsinki, and it also has regional offices.
