Taike and Kavi prepare for merger

The National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) are preparing to merge to form a new agency as of the beginning of 2026. The change is part of the Education and Culture Administration 2030 reform project.

Expert networks

Taike’s expert networks support organisations in promoting art and culture. We help build strategies, networks and operating models. In addition, we provide support in such areas as identifying funding opportunities and initiating projects.

Information about supplementary artist pensions

A supplementary artist pension may be awarded as recognition of an outstanding contribution to the creative or performing arts. Supplementary artist pensions are not available to artists whose permanent income from pensions and other sources exceeds a certain a limit. The application period for supplementary artist pensions is in September.

Taike's Municipal Cooperation team assists municipalities in fulfilling their legal obligations for promoting the arts and culture.

Attachments for grant applications

Check the call for applications to see what attachments you should include with your application. For positive grant decisions, the attachments required for the final report are specified in the grant decision, which should be given to the person responsible for the community’s accounting.

This development programme aims to increase working opportunities for artists, improve livelihoods and promote occupational wellbeing.

This development programme aims to make new ways of applying artistic expertise visible and to provide access to artists' expertise as broadly as possible within society.

Programmes and projects

The goal of Taike’s development programmes is to promote the status and working conditions of artists and to enhance the impact of art in society. These goals are implemented in projects in which Taike’s regional artists, special advisors and art experts play a central role.

Organisation

Taike has approximately 80 employees. Approximately half of these are administrative staff (civil servants) and half are art experts and artist experts on fixed-term employment contracts. The head office of Taike is in Helsinki, and it also has regional offices.
