Public display grants are intended for professional artists in the fields of the visual arts whose works may be displayed publicly.

The National Council for the Visual Arts has awarded artist grants beginning in 2024. Artist grants were awarded to 62 artists.

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) will submit summarised information about decisions for all calls for applications announced since 1 October to the joint Tutkiavustuksia.fi service. For subsidies to communities, both positive and negative subsidy decisions will be published on the website. For grants to artists, only positive grant decisions will be published.

Finland’s state budget proposal for 2024 has been published. Cuts of around 5 percent have been proposed for Taike grants and subsidies compared to the amount allocated in 2023. The cuts do not apply to Taike’s legally mandated forms of support, for which index increases are proposed.

Inferno is the only publication specialising in metal music that is published as a printed magazine in Finland. A subsidy awarded by Taike is of vital importance for enabling the magazine to be published.

Taike provides expert services that assist municipalities in fulfilling their legal obligations for promoting the arts and culture.

A total of 683,000 euros was awarded to 36 communities. There were 130 applicants.

Taike is organising an online webinar on MYEL insurance and unemployment security for grant recipients together with Mela and Kela.

A total of 150,000 euros was awarded to 7 communities. There were 24 applicants.
