The national arts councils make decisions regarding the awarding of grants and awards.

The Finnish Arts and Culture Agency is organising an info briefing on the use and clarification of general grants on Wednesday 15 April, 1pm–2pm. The info briefing will discuss the terms and restrictions of using government grants, as well as how to provide clarification of the use of the grant.

The Finnish Arts and Culture Agency has decided on the awarding of 15 million euros in general grants for the arts and culture to communities in 2026. General grants have been awarded to 214 applicants. A total of 385 applications were received.

We regularly evaluate the impact of our own activities.

The grant must be used in accordance with the work plan, but the project does not have to be fully completed during the grant period. A final report of how the grant was used must be submitted.

National arts councils award half-year artist grants, as well as one-year, three-year and five-year artist grants, to support the work of professional artists. Calls for applications for artist grants are announced in spring, and the grant period begins the following year.

Artist grants are intended to support the professional artistic work of artists in different fields of the arts and art journalists. Applications can be submitted online using the Applyforgrants.fi service. The call for applications can be found on the service under the name of the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency.
