A supplementary artist pension may be awarded as recognition of an outstanding contribution to the creative or performing arts. Supplementary artist pensions are intended to supplement the artist’s pension security.

Work on preparing the legal amendments concerning the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and its arts councils is progressing on the basis of the consultation round that concluded in January. Taike’s appropriations for discretionary government grants would decrease for the third year in a row. The cut is targeted at discretionary non-statutory government grants, which would be cut by approximately 5 percent.
