The recently appointed Central Arts Council, the main policymaking body under the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, convened for the first time on Friday 15 February. Chairperson Tiina Rosenberg presided over the meeting, at which the nine-member council appointed musician Jaakko Kuusisto Deputy Chairperson.

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland requests candidates for national and regional arts councils to be nominated by 15 June. The Central Arts Council shall appoint the members for the 2017-18 term in the autumn.

The RECEPTION community-art triennial, now being held for the first time, begins on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Old Student House, as part of the IHME Contemporary Art Festival. The opening shot for the Triennial brings together makers, producers and funders of community art to discuss topical issues and approaches in the field.
