Use of grants

The grant must be used in accordance with the work plan, but the project does not have to be fully completed during the grant period. A final report of how the grant was used must be submitted.

Taike awards 13 regional art prizes

The regional arts councils of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have awarded 13 regional art prizes for 2025. Regional art prizes are awarded to artists, artist groups and artist communities who have promoted the visibility and status of art in their own region and promoted a discussion of and interest in art.

Architect Mona Schalin awarded title of Art Academic

Alexander Stubb, President of the Republic of Finland, has awarded the title of Art Academic to architect Mona Schalin. Schalin is an expert in building conservation, renovation and the protection of the built cultural environment. Her most notable restoration and renovation projects include the National Pensions Institute apartment building area, the Urho Kekkonen Museum Tamminiemi, the Serpentine House in Helsinki, and several of the buildings at the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress.

Artist grants awarded to 303 artists

The national arts councils of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have awarded artist grants beginning at the start of 2026. The length of grant terms varies from half a year to five years. A total of 3766 applications were received, and eight percent of applicants were awarded a grant. The number of applications decreased slightly for the second year in a row.

Taike supports

We fund the arts and culture through grants for artists and communities. Grants for artists are awarded to individuals and working groups, while grants for communities are awarded to registered communities. Grants can be applied using the Applyforgrants.fi service under the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency name.

Information about artist grants

National arts councils award half-year artist grants, as well as one-year, three-year and five-year artist grants, to support the work of professional artists. Calls for applications for artist grants are announced in spring, and the grant period begins the following year.

Information about library grants for writers and translators

Library grants for writers and translators are intended for writers of fiction, writers of non-fiction and translators of literature who are currently living or have permanently lived in Finland. The application period for library grants is in January.

Invoicing details

Finnish Arts and Culture Agency accepts only electronic invoices that are compliant with the European Standard. The payment term for invoices is 21 days net.

Information about public display grants

Public display grants are intended for professional artists in the fields of the visual arts, whose works may be displayed publicly. The application period for public display grants is in January.

Finnish Arts and Culture Agency begins operations

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) have merged at the start of the year to form the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency. The new agency carries out tasks related to the promotion of the arts and culture, media education and a safe media environment, as well as archiving and promoting knowledge of audiovisual culture. The merger will not result in any changes to services, although some contact information may change.
