The objective of our art, health and wellbeing advisory services is to make the work of artists a valued and natural part of activities that promote wellbeing and health.

The Arts and Culture Barometer is an annual survey of attitudes and views in the form of a survey. The barometer aims to gather the opinions of those working in the fields of the arts and to invite discussion about topical issues regarding art policies.

The theme of the latest Arts and Culture Barometer was funding and support for artistic work. The results of the barometer indicate uncertainties related to funding the work of professional artists. According to the respondents, income generation for artists is often fragmented among several different sources, and funding for artistic work does not correspond to actual needs. As changes and cuts are being made simultaneously to several factors related to funding and income levels, the impacts on making art and the livelihoods of artists can be profound and unpredictable, according to the results of the barometer.

These publications are produced by Taike’s predecessor, the Arts Council of Finland. Physical copies are available at the National Library of Finland.

Particularly distinguished art professionals may be awarded recognition for their work in the form of the title Art Academic or Artist Professor.
