The Eloon! tour organised by Creative Net and Suomen Yrittäjät – the Federation of Finnish Enterprises arrives in Rovaniemi on 8 October. The theme of the event is “Lapland’s creative networks in the innovation work of companies”. On the tour, professionals from the business and creative sectors get the chance to collaborate and come up with creative solutions to the challenges of regional vitality.

Publishers and foreign and minority language writers will have the chance to meet at the Turku Book Fair on 4 October 2024. The programme also includes a panel discussion that will be open to the public.

According to the Government’s draft legislation, the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) and the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) would merge to form the Culture Agency of Finland (Kulttuurivirasto) at the beginning of 2026. At the same time, the structure of the arts councils would change. The consultation round on the draft legislation is open until 31 January 2025. The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) has awarded 13.8 million euros in operational subsidies for specific artforms to art communities in 2025. Altogether 193 art communities throughout Finland have been awarded an operational subsidy. Due to the budget situation and Taike’s strategic priorities, there have been more changes affecting recipients and amounts in the decisions than in previous years.

On Friday 24 January at 10am, Taike is organising a webinar for professional writers and translators about this years call for applications for library grants. The online webinar will discuss basic principles and provide tips on how to apply.

The opening of Taiteen talo will be celebrated on Saturday 14 May. The event is free to all city residents. At the opening, you will be able to see and experience the contribution of the Turku cultural field extensively, and a programme for all ages is promised. As part of the opening programme, the Vallaton Kumous art festival of the Taidekahvit co-operation network will be seen.

At Creative Net funding coffee meetings you can hear about ESF+ development funding and project planning within the arts, culture and creative sectors. The funding coffee meetings are being held from January to March 2025 every other Thursday from 9am to 10am.

Taike is an organising an info briefing on the use and clarification of government grants on Thursday 10 April, 10am–11am. The info briefing will discuss the terms and restrictions of using government grants, as well as how to provide clarification of the use of the grant.

The Creative Net team from the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) offers sparring for those participating in the call for applications for ESF+ projects within the Creative and Cultural Innovation Expertise theme. Support is available for developing project ideas and finalising applications.
