The objective of our cultural wellbeing team is to make the work of artists a valued and natural part of activities that promote wellbeing and health.

Each year the Arts Promotion Centre Finland awards about 45 million euros to approximately 3 500 artists and communities.

Restructuring of arts councils

Taike’s arts councils are being restructured, and the current arts councils be discontinued as of 1 July 2026. The new structure will have a Council of Arts and Culture utilising a pool of experts and rotating grant assessment panels to assess applications. The principles of peer reviews and the autonomy of art will be maintained in decision-making. Stakeholders and the entire arts sector are being consulted extensively in the restructuring work.

These grants are intended for the individual internationalisation development projects of art communities and event organisers.

Taike supports

We fund the arts and culture through grants for artists and communities. Grants for artists are awarded to individuals and working groups, while grants for communities are awarded to registered communities. Grants can be applied using the Applyforgrants.fi service under the new Finnish Arts and Culture Agency name.

Information about subsidies for promoting inclusion and cultural wellbeing

These subsidies were available for application until 2024. These subsidies were intended for communities to promote the accessibility and wellbeing effects of art and culture, as well as participation and inclusion in art and culture.

Information about special subsidies for cultural activities in sparsely populated rural areas

These subsidies were available for application until 2023. These subsidies support cultural activities in sparsely populated rural areas. They were intended for registered communities, such as municipalities, foundations, associations, cooperatives and companies.

These grants were available for application until 2024. These grants were intended for projects related to children’s and youth culture that employ professional artists.
