Workshop on Multilingualism and art 7.2.

Kone Foundation organizes together with Arts Promotion Centre Finland, a project workshop on multilingualism and art. The workshop is related to a grant call on the same theme, which will be organized in February-March by Kone Foundation. The event will be held on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 at 13-16 at Kone Foundation office in Helsinki.

State grant for art procurements in accordance with the principle “1% of construction costs for art” – application period begins on 2 June

The grant is intended for communities such as municipalities, municipal federations, companies, foundations and associations that procure works of art for construction projects in accordance with the principle “1% of construction costs for art”. Altogether 380,000 euros will be allocated.

Central Arts Council specifies national arts councils – nomination of candidates begins

Seven national arts councils will be responsible for distributing national grants, subsidies and awards in 2015-16 in FInland. Each national arts council will have 9 to 12 members.

New members appointed for regional arts councils

The Central Arts Council of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland has appointed new members for the thirteen regional arts councils for a two-year term (2013-2014). According to new legislation in Finland, the Central Arts Council appoints the chairpersons and other members of the regional arts councils. The deputy chairperson for each arts council is elected by its members.

Central Arts Council awards state grant for social media art campaign to Nuoren Voiman Liitto

The Central Arts Council has awarded 40,000 euros to a campaign to increase the visibility of art. The non-profit literature organisation Nuoren Voiman Liitto (NVL) has been selected to implement the campaign using social media.

Sibelius Discovery Day in London kicks off Alternative Sibelius event series

Sibelius Discovery Day takes over London’s Barbican Centre and the St Luke’s concert venue next Sunday, 15 March. The full-day programme includes lectures, panel discussions and chamber music, culminating with a performance of Sibelius’ Symphony No.2 by the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO).
